Job Title: Manager, People Team
A little bit about our team:
The WMG People Team aims at driving the business forward by partnering with leaders to help them build their organizations and make decisions on employee related objectives. Our team focuses on coaching managers on how to lead teams, resolving employee relations issues, helping employees grow at WMG, and being a thought partner on business decisions in the workplace.
Our People Team provides support to employees within Central Functions (Corporate) including Recorded Music groups such as Warner-Elektra-Atlantic Corporation (WMX & WRMGO) and Alternative Distribution Alliance (ADA) for areas including organizational development, performance management, learning and development, employee relations, as well as general human resources support.
Your role:
The People Team Manager will act as a hands-on thought partner for business leaders on all matters regarding People and will provide day-to-day counsel and coaching on employee relations issues, organizational development and design, performance management, talent development, and compliance. This individual will act as a liaison to centralized HR functional areas such as compensation, benefits, payroll, learning and development, plus talent acquisition. The People Team Manager will also be a contributor and project manager on various People initiatives.
Here you'll get to:
• Provide day-to-day counsel on matters concerning employee relations, including performance improvement (disciplinary process), employee investigations, HR compliance, law, and government regulations. Supports consistency through policy interpretation, execution, documentation, and by following procedures & standards.
• Support the team in driving culture transformation within your supported client groups.
• Act as a key influencer in driving change. Establish and keep strong, positive, consultative relationships by working closely with business leaders and other employees.
• Conducts research, contributes to projects and timelines, and participates as a hands-on contributor on teams and committees toward the successful completion of various HR Initiatives.
• Coordinates with Compensation on benchmarking and salary analysis for current employees and new hires.
• Under the direction of HR Leaders, drives the Merit and Bonus process.
• Ability to coach and make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, government regulation and law.
• Work with Talent Acquisition to translate hiring needs, and ensure the effective filling of entry-level, professional, and technical job openings.
• Assist in conducting exit interviews and new hire three month check ins; compiling, analyzing, and acting upon findings as needed.
• Ensure proper onboarding and off-boarding of employees, following company protocols.
About you:
• 3+ years experience as an HR generalist or equivalent.
• You have the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision.
• You maintain confidentiality of all information as needed.
• You have accountability, critical thinking skills, and confidence when presenting ideas.
• You have high emotional intelligence, and exercise sound judgment when dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.
• You possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with many different personalities.
• You are adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Experience conducting employee relations investigations.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively while also ensuring accuracy of work through attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and project management skills.
• Strong technical skills in Google Workplace (Docs, Sheets and Slides) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Word).
We'd love it if you also had:
• Formal study in Human Resources, Employment Law, Psychology, Management, Business or a related field is preferred.
• Experience utilizing Workday HRIS system
• Ability to communicate to groups in a confident, engaging and consistent manner.

This position will require being in the office 4 days a week. We believe that an in-office presence is critical for talent development, collaboration and building strong relationships.
Salary Range
$70,000 to $80,000 Annually
Salary ranges are included for job postings where required by law. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience and business needs. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external factors.
