Job Description
United Talent Agency (UTA) seeks a Director of Employee Relations in our People department. This individual will be a key member of the People Business Partnerships team, responsible for investigating and resolving employment-related concerns and matters.
The position requires a complex multi-tasker, with a high-level of emotional intelligence, integrity, and discretion. This role will partner with our internal team and the legal department to ensure UTA is providing a safe and secure culture for its employees across all divisions and in all locations.
The salary range for this role is $160,000 to $180,000 commensurate with experience and skills
What You Will Do
• Investigate allegations of unlawful behavior and/or violations of Company policy in compliance with federal/local law and Company policy
• Manage investigative process from beginning to end inclusive of complainant intakes, subject and witness interviews, and review/analysis of pertinent documentation.
• Compose documentation inclusive of closing correspondence, investigative recaps, and case summaries as required.
• Partner collaboratively with Legal and the People Department to provide updates to key stakeholders as appropriate.
• Make recommendations regarding potential disciplinary measures and/or coaching support based on investigative findings and consistent remediation efforts throughout Company divisions.
• Manage and update caseload regularly through the Employment Relations database management system.
• Identifies issue trends and proactive solutions.
• Assist with responding to employee complaints with state, federal and local agencies.
• Partner with the People Department on training initiatives
What You Will Need
• 5+ years of experience investigating employment-related complaints
• 5+ years of experience in a Human Resources role as an investigator and/or generalist within the entertainment industry
• JD preferred but not required
• Demonstrated track record of successfully resolving internal investigations.
• Excellent decision making, problem solving and analytical skills
• High level of integrity, objectivity discretion and emotional intelligence
• Superb written and verbal communications skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously, exhibiting keen prioritization skills
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws as well as general Human Resources policies and procedures
• Ability to handle highly sensitive matters with compassion and equity.
• Ability to position oneself with all staff as a credible and trusted partner.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint a must
• Experience with All Voices or other internal employee relations database platform
