Assistant, Publicity (FX)
FX is seeking an Assistant to provide administrative support to three Los Angeles-based Directors of Publicity and general support for the department.
Please note: this role is currently located in Century City, but the team is expected to transfer to Burbank by end of 2025.
Responsibilities:
• Answer phones, organize meetings, keep notes, maintain schedules and records, research projects, make travel arrangements and process expense reports for Directors.
• Assist with drafting, proofing, and distributing press materials, itineraries, and media/programming alerts; distributing, tracking and troubleshooting programming grids; updating fact sheets; assisting with clip selection and licensing for talent appearances; creating and maintaining status reports; tracking and distributing daily press breaks; maintaining master media lists; and couriering packages.
• Provide support for the department as needed, including organizing press mailers, booking meeting rooms and escorting talent.
• Work Los Angeles-based FX events, organize press RSVPs and guest check-in.
Basic Qualifications:
• 1+ years of administrative experience in a fast-paced environment
• Able to work overtime and weekend events, as needed
• Demonstrate a strong passion for building a career in publicity, with a genuine interest in media relations and brand storytelling
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe; familiarity with social media is a plus
• Strong communication skills, including writing and copy-editing experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills: must work well under pressure and navigate various personalities with professionalism
• Highly motivated, organized, detail-oriented, personable and reliable, with the ability to prioritize work independently
• Strong attention to detail and prioritization skills
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and interact professionally with senior executives, media personnel, talent and their representatives
Preferred Education:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
The hiring range for this position in Los Angeles, CA is $48,500.00 to $65,000.00 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
