Position: Director, Business Development

Location: Burbank, CA

We currently have an opening for a Director, Business Development. This position will be hybrid. Please see responsibilities for additional in-person requirements.

Summary:

The Director, Business Development will have extensive experience in the field of media management, ideally in Localization and Digital Media and with mid-range expertise in Artificial Intelligence tools. This position will have well-established relationships in Media & Entertainment across a broad range of clients and channels. This role will meet with mid- to senior-level clients to build relationships and secure new business in new and existing channels at Deluxe. A core responsibility will be to drive new revenue, as well as setting strategy and uncovering and landing new business opportunities.

Responsibilities:
• Create and execute a sales plan, drive AI focused vision and corporate solutions with responsibility for defining and delivering against forecast commitments.
• Lead new sales initiatives and drive detailed account strategies to win specific business.
• Structure winning proposals in collaboration with Sales Engineering and Operations support team
• Develop and execute deals with new and existing clients. This process is highly consultative and involves analyzing business processes to identify client needs, uncover opportunities, create solutions and deliver value propositions through compelling presentations.
• Explore inner company opportunities for the purpose of up and cross sales.
• Negotiate and close transactions.
• Develop and manage relationships with strategic partners and work collaboratively to identify business opportunities, bid projects, and close business.
• Ensure maximum productivity and effectiveness of end-to-end sales process including accountability for accuracy, high quality and content of all customer destined documents, proposals and presentations.
• Using personal industry contacts and knowledge of the market, develops new client relationships and channel opportunities.
• Travel when necessary to meet current and prospective clients
• Attend industry conferences and report back to internal stakeholders

Qualifications:
• 5+ year experience within the media and broadcasting industry, especially around media preparation and media distribution, sales, and business development
• An understanding of the TV/Media global industry and dominant players
• An understanding of the technical and operational aspects of media workflows
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts, close deals and generate revenue.
• Demonstrated strong leadership, communication (both verbal and written) with the ability to exchange information with others clearly and concisely.
• Ability to respond to frequent pressure to meet deadlines when work speed and sustained accuracy is paramount.
• Ability to maintain own workflow and meet deadlines.
• Expert in presenting and communicating complicated scenarios in easy-to-understand ways
• Operational knowledge of Localization supply chains
• Familiarity with emerging artificial intelligence technologies in Localization (ex: ASR, MT, TTS)
• International experience including experience of multicultural teamwork
• Experience at a studio and vendor role a plus

This role is based in Los Angeles, California and the base pay range for this role is $160,000 - $180,000 annually. Actual amounts will vary depending on education, skills, experience, and geographic location.
