Job Summary/Description:
Atlanta News First has an opportunity for a dedicated and detail-oriented HR Generalist with a strong background in employee relations and payroll administration. The HR Generalist interacts with all levels of employees and management and is responsible for a wide range of duties which may include recruitment, development, engagement, and employee relations.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and conflict resolution.
• Collaborate with the payroll team to reconcile payroll discrepancies and maintain records.
• Manage employee payroll changes, including hires, pay changes, promotions, and terminations.
• Maintain personnel files and update employee records in HR systems to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
• Support the recruitment process, including job postings, interviews, and onboarding as needed.
• Onboard new employees, including new hire orientations and the communication of company benefits, policies, and procedures.
• Effectively communicate policies, procedures, and other announcements in written and oral form
• Multiple general and administrative duties, very deadline-driven.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3+ years of HR experience, with a focus on employee relations and payroll.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and payroll regulations.
• Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., UKG, Workday, or similar platforms).
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Skills:
• SHRM-CP or similar certification.
• Proficiency in both Spanish and English is a plus.
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Experience in a fast-paced work environment.
