Sony Pictures is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Manager to join our GFO team. The Manager for the RTR GFO will oversee accounting, financial reporting and analysis functions. The role will involve close interaction with Divisional Finance (Planning and Forecasting), CapGemini (CG) (our outsourced accounting provider), the operations groups and the accounting team of the newly established Sony Pictures Experiences division (''Experiences'').
In addition, the Manager will play a pivotal role in the financial integration strategies for the operations of the Experiences division into SPE's overall Finance and Accounting environment. The responsibilities will include managing journal entries, developing or monitoring interfaces between different accounting systems, and conducting thorough reviews of financial statements to ensure accuracy and alignment with regulatory standards.
Experience in the entertainment, hospitality or retails industries is preferred.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage the monthly accounting close for the Experiences operations, ensuring effective financial controls (SOX) are followed. This includes monthly reporting to management, corporate and to the external auditor PWC.
• Prepare and post various month end journal entries including entries for consolidation, intercompany transactions, and elimination entries as part of the integration processes.
• Perform analysis of actual results to most recent budget and forecast estimates – preparing appropriate variance explanations thereon and highlighting issues to management.
• Perform comprehensive analysis of the financial records of the Experiences operations, identifying discrepancies and areas for adjustment to align with company standards.
• Manage and work closely with CapGemini, review their work, provide desk top procedures for new tasks transitioned to them and provide guidance when necessary.
• Work closely with IT to develop or manage the interface between different accounting systems to facilitate seamless data transfer and consolidation of financial information between the various operations and Sony Pictures.
• Review, interpret and summarize contracts with appropriate application of accounting policies.
• Continuously monitor financial processes and make recommendations for improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.
• Assist in preparing accounting documentation and memorandums for management and audit review/approval.
Requirements:
• 6+ years of strong accounting experience (Big 4 a plus)
• Entertainment industry experience is preferred
• Hospitality or Retail industry experience is preferred
• BS Degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance
• Direct experience with complex ERP systems and General Ledger postings (SAP a plus)
• Strong MS Excel skills required (Modeling, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros, etc.)
• Experience working with offshore personnel and providing oversight and review of their deliverables
• Strong time-management skills, ability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast, deadline-driven environment
• Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and problem solve with reasonable independence
• Ability to self-review and produce accurate, reliable and high quality work in an efficient manner
• Strong initiative, ability to work independently and meet deadlines while understanding when to update and seek guidance from management
• Ability to lead/follow-through with co-workers on projects/tasks by setting guidelines, timetables and clear sense of expectations
• Strong level of communication (written and verbal) and excellent interpersonal skills

The anticipated base salary for this position is $107,200 - $134,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
