Job Description
Project Manager

The Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop seeks a part-time Project Manager to support a new multi-year child-centered design initiative. The Project Manager will oversee project delivery, timelines, and budget, and contribute to reporting, monitoring, and evaluation of impact. The Project Manager will manage the execution of new partnerships and support project requirements, including meetings and events. The Project Manager will collaborate across the team and with other Sesame Workshop departments. This position requires an individual with knowledge of project management, effective communication skills, and the ability to leverage internal and external relationships to keep projects on track.

Please Note: This is a grant-funded position. This is a full-time position with benefits and an end date. The stated salary range in this posting is average and may not reflect individual circumstances. We will review specific salary information during the interview process.

Responsibilities

Project Management
• Track and manage project timelines and tasks, to align organizational efforts to outcomes, meet key performance indicators, and ensure delivery on time and on budget
• Coordinate with Sesame Workshop finance and legal departments to develop and execute contracts with third party individuals and organizations
• Manage project budgets to ensure alignment between effort and outcomes, monitor cost reports, and partner with Sesame Workshop stakeholders on invoicing, spending, , and reporting

Partnership Management
• Lead partner management activities including identifying and screening new partners, developing MOUs and contracts
• Support communications efforts including public outreach, web, social media, events, PR launches, etc. and the collection of impact data, in collaboration with department members who own relationships and project outcomes
• Support the team to plan and implement new and existing initiatives, engage new and existing partners

Team Management
• Implement tools and systems to enhance collaboration and coordination across JGCC projects, utilizing as project management best practices and process templates
• Manage department knowledge management system, ensuring project files are maintained in ways that promote departmental learning
• Support team members as needed across project activities

Qualifications
• 2+ years of professional experience in project management
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple ongoing projects and ensure timely delivery

Flexible thinker who can proactively identify and creatively solve challenges to keep projects on track

Excellent interpersonal skills to navigate cross-functional departments to achieve alignment around goals

Knowledge of work plans, budgets, timelines, communication tools, and key performance indicators
Other:
• Background in education, child development, social impact, media or other related fields preferred
• Experience with project management software such as Asana, Airtable, or similar tools
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficiency with productivity tools including Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office, and online communication tools including Slack, Teams, Zoom, etc.
• Proficiency in social media (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube etc.)
