Role Overview:

This position is for a temporary engagement through our staffing partner DZConneX (Yoh Services). The anticipated duration of this engagement will vary and will be a minimum of 12 months.

PC Test Specialists at PlayStation are responsible for developing specific test strategies for PC titles, and collaborating with functional testing teams and the Network, Compatibility, and Performance Lab to ensure robust testing coverage for these titles. You have deep knowledge of PC platform requirements and are excited to set the standard of quality of our PC titles.

PlayStation Studios QA supports all PlayStation Studios and the PC Test Specialist will support the PlayStation Studios QA department in all areas.

What you will be doing:
• Provide subject matter expertise and educate staff on PC operating system interaction, Steam client functionality, Epic client functionality, and performance testing applied to multiplatform title development.
• Continued learning and development of subject matter expertise; provide training and guidance to test staff regarding PC OS and Hardware testing best practices.
• Directly interact with Studios and Business Leadership to communicate strategy, risk, and product impacts.
• Create and share test plans on pre-release versions of PC software.
• Assessing product functionality against SIE quality standards.
• Researching and documenting product defects and performance metrics.
• Applying knowledge of intermediate to advanced networking principles and PC, and gaming / functionality elements.
• Collaborating on test efforts and partnering with our Networking, Compatibility, and Performance Lab team.
• Promote new test strategies between project disciplines, including Functional Testing teams, Engineering groups, and other service providers.
• Risk analysis on assigned titles and/or new services or processes.

What we are looking for:
• Minimum 1 years' experience in QA Operations.
• PC Games testing experience, supporting, and releasing titles across a range of platforms like Steam, Epic, Origin, GOG, etc.
• Understanding of PC gaming hardware and the associated technologies.
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.

Desired Skills:
• Excellent general awareness of QA and games industry preferred.
• Expert level understanding of PC gaming hardware and the associated technologies.
• Strong PC building experience.
• Strong experience / understanding of GPU video graphics cards and display resolutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven experience of process improvement/service management.
