Job Description
The Senior Accountant position is primarily responsible for assisting with all aspects of revenue reporting for our Olympics business. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Finance and VP, Controller of the Olympics and assist in preparing and providing month-end and event-related reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, passion for accuracy, advanced excel skills, a desire to learn and an ability to identify anomalies in the reporting. This person must possess the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment, adapt on the fly, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities:
• Produce ticket reports to be used in conjunction with revenue recognition and deferral for month-end close
• Reconcile and prepare daily payment processor transactions and other revenue related payment transactions
• Perform GL account reconciliations
• Assist with preparing and posting journal entries related to cash, revenue, COGS, and accounts receivable
• Assist with quarterly and year-end audit requests
• Assist with the preparation/maintenance of key business processes and control improvement documentation
• Respond to various ad-hoc requests
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Minimum 2 years of progressive accounting experience
• Accounting degree required, CPA a plus
• Strong analytical and technical accounting skills, as well as excellent attention to detail (ASC 606 – Revenue Recognition)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Ability to learn and digest new things quickly
• Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task
• Passion for international environment
Reporting Relationships and Working Conditions (legal)
Reports to the Senior Manager, Finance for daily work and general office issues. Position will reside in New York, NY or Atlanta, GA. Typical 40-hour work week, with some additional hours and weekends required during peak times. Occasional travel to other offices within the Company.
