Job Description
The Production Finance Manager role will be instrumental in creating and implementing the production finance goals of the Mexico team.

The goals include:

1) Provide accurate, timely, and complete production budgets and estimated final costs.

2) Protecting the company's investment through production oversight and control, cash management, policies, and procedures.

3) Providing shows with production finance support to facilitate producing great content.

4) Identifying opportunities for us to innovate.

Responsibilities
• Work with show accountants to drive accurate, complete, and timely cost reporting and support production. Review production budgets, incentives, cash flows, cost reports, and trial balances prepared by show accountants.
• Keep abreast of current and changing industry trends, evolving technologies, and production incentives.
• Assist in the creation, review, and maintenance of production budgets, ensuring that all cost elements are accounted for and aligned with project needs.
• Track actual production costs against budgeted amounts, providing regular updates and variance analysis to production and finance teams.
• Analyze and review cost reports and budgets throughout the production's lifecycle, communicating and negotiating with external production partners on eventual variances.
• Review cash flow requirements for production companies.
• Monitor and track production payments and cost reports to ensure accuracy and completeness, in line with contracts and financial agreements.
• Provide support in troubleshooting financial issues and resolving discrepancies that may arise during the production process.
• Ensure that all financial operations are compliant with Netflix's internal policies and industry best practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work effectively and decisively with the internal Production Management leads and related internal stakeholders to successfully manage external production partners.
• Guide best practices of financial control and cash management with both external production partners and internal stakeholders.
• Communicate regularly with the senior production finance lead to provide updates and address any financial issues or concerns.

Qualifications
• Candidates must have extensive production finance/production accounting experience managing budgets in Mexico, either at the studio level or in the field.
• Good skill level in Movie Magic Budgeting and PSL.
• Solution-focused with the ability to understand and articulate issues using creative, production, or financial context.
• Minimum of 12 years of work experience in finance/accounting within the entertainment industry.
• Proficiency in Excel with proven experience.
• Strong understanding of all the financial elements needed to bring an original production to life: An ideal candidate needs to be familiar with everything included in a production budget.
• Ability to identify potential hurdles for our productions and help to keep a project on track.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess a high level of intellectual curiosity, focus on generating results, and exhibit the highest personal and professional standards of integrity and ethics.
• Self-motivated, disciplined, highly organized, and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
