Job Title: Junior Graphic Designer
Job Summary: Responsibilities include working with the Design Team to develop ideas for the Royals brand across all platforms and materials for the organization.
Position Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
• Use strategic vision from the Creative Director to complete and improve the project to desired needs clearly and consistently meeting all deadlines
• Adapts design elements to carry out the continuity of the club brand throughout all collateral
• Designs projects that include but are not limited to small, printed pieces (flyers, brochures, etc.), digital graphics, social media content, newspaper/magazine ads publications, e-mail marketing components, internet (banners, ads, pop-ups and other design elements for royals.com), sponsorship elements, proposal decks, promotional items, internal communication pieces
• Maintains projects through precise proofing of all materials
• Works on multiple design projects at a given time and executes promptly
• Assists in maintaining design department policies
Position Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required:
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Design is a plus but not required, 1-2 years of real-world application is satisfactory
• Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Keynote) and have a strong design portfolio that highlights layout, typography, motion and visual hierarchy
• Presentation skills with the ability to articulate ideas and design decision
• Must be able to work is in line with style guides and branding for the Kansas City Royals and their partners
• Must be able to easily switch between projects comfortably and quickly
• Must possess a strong ability to manage one's own time, seek clarification when uncertain and prioritize tasks when given clearly defined goals and objectives
• Must have the ability to demonstrate uncompromised judgment and discretion with regard to interpersonal relationships
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and use upmost discretion when privy to sensitive information
• In addition, successful candidate will have knowledge of the MLB, its teams, players, history, rules, and the game of baseball
• Able to apply an entrepreneurial approach to their work and has a positive and upbeat attitude
• Must have the ability and willingness to work flexible hours (i.e. nights and weekends around games)
• Must have strong communication skills: must be comfortable with engaging in a variety of different communicative modes (verbal, non-verbal, and written) and being attuned to others through strong active listening skills
• Must be flexible & reliable team player, both within own department and within company as a whole
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift items weighing as much as 15 pounds
• Must be able to work in a seated position for majority of workday
• Must be able to be productive utilizing a computer keyboard and telephone
• Must be able to be productive in a work environment where the noise level can be high at times
• Must be comfortable walking to navigate the facility to access the office, concourse, etc.
• Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as required by deadlines and event scheduling

This role is a Full-Time, Exempt opportunity that is eligible for Company Benefits, 401K, and PTO. This role is expected to have a standard 40-hour work week.
