As a leader and member of our Event Management Department, the Production Manager will:
· Comprehensively advance each assigned show with the venue and touring artist in a proactive and timely manner – facilitating a process that adheres to budgets and benefits the overall mission of iAE.
· Identify any necessary production kills, holds, or sightline limitations prior to tickets going on-sale.
· Outline an event’s full production needs and translate into a budget.
· Research, develop strategies, and negotiate with third-party vendors to reduce overall show expenses, especially those iAE can leverage national offerings to when negotiating tour contracts.
· Create and distribute advance sheets, production schedules, and additional advance documents as required.
· Oversee day-of-show operations, both in-person and remotely, to ensure all budgets are effectively maintained and our customers, artists, and local partners are highly satisfied.
· Ensure prompt payment to all artists and third-party vendors, and artist approval of show expenses.
· Assist in managing a team of both full-time Event Managers and freelance Production Managers or Promoter Reps.
· Complete post-event reports and electronically file all final advance documents, final invoices, and records of payment.
· Collaborate with Booking Department to assist in the creation of new events and festivals by contributing to a site or set’s design and developing the installation plans.
· Assist in other duties as required, such as creation of reports for taxation authorities (i.e. non-resident entertainer’s withholding) and performer’s rights organizations (i.e. ASCAP, BMI).
· Report directly to the Senior Event Director, VP of Programming, and CEO.
Qualifications
• Minimum 5-years prior management experience in live event production or management with a tour, venue, or promoter.
• Able to translate rigging, stage, and light plots
• Must be able to travel, including a valid driver's license and passport
• Flexible schedule (days/nights, late hours, weekends, and holidays)
• Lift up to 50lbs and be on feet for extended periods of time
Skills
• Proficient in Windows applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Experience with CAD and/or Vectorworks
• Knowledge of show settlement procedures
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Make clear, concise decisions and at times with limited information.
• Superior interpersonal communication and organizational skills
• Work remotely and in a moderate to loud level or noise in work environment
