Independent Artist Group (IAG) was born upon the merger of Agency for the Performing Arts (APA) and Artist Group International (IAG) in the summer of 2023. What We Are Looking For
IAG seeks a highly motivated junior level attorney to join our Business and Legal Affairs department in our Los Angeles Office. This position will report to the Head of Business and support Business and Legal Affairs. The successful candidate will be able to review and negotiate agreements for concerts/music touring, live comedy, film, scripted and unscripted television, endorsements, and branding.
Duties
• Negotiate a variety of agreements, including but not limited to those for marketing, branding, music, and both above- and below-the-line deals
• Serve as strategic advisor and business partner to agents and executives, providing decision-making support and guidance related to deals and contract negotiations
• Apply innovative problem-solving skills and practical business judgment to balance IAG's business needs and acceptable levels of risk
• Foster positive, long-term internal and external client relationships with agents, managers, and artists
• Other duties as assigned

Salary Description
$85,000 - $140,000/year, depending on experience
Requirements
Education And Experience
• JD from an accredited law school required
• Admission to the State Bar of California or ability to qualify for Registered In-House Counsel (RIHC) in California required
• 2+ years' exposure to transactional legal experience required, with at least 1 year specifically working with entertainment agreements
• Experience drafting and negotiating talent agreements (e.g. actors, writers, producers, directors) and/or license/production services agreements preferred
• Experience with guild/union (e.g. WGA, SAG-AFTRA), non-union labor and employment law, intellectual property, and/or legal production work a plus
