The Technical Interface Designer (TID) bridges the gap between artists and software engineers by combining artistic skills and experience with programming and scripting. The TID is part of the live content team and works closely with producers, artists, project managers, programmers and other technical designers.

Your Responsibilities
• Recreation of brand assets into the game in authentic advertising animations
• Maintain best practices in art development
• UI animations and effects creation using proprietary game engine
• Apply proper art optimization techniques in art assets
• Quickly identify and debug art and animation related issues
• Collaborate with live content and art, explaining both the art team needs and the tech constraints
• Learn and support animations and UI work with legacy tech (Flash-based animations via ActionScript and timeline)
• Adapt to evolving technology and support migrating legacy assets to new formats

Your Qualifications
• Technical skills, and ability to quickly learn new proprietary production tools and workflow
• Understanding of motion principles and ability to create timeline animations
• Work with limitations specific to FC titles and problem solve with creative solutions
• Familiar with scripting languages like Python
• Proficient with Adobe Flash/Animate, Photoshop, and other graphics and animation applications
• 1+ years of experience creating motion graphics, or interfaces with game engines such as Unreal.
• Visual animation and programming

Other Preferred Skills/Qualifications
• Understanding of user experience principles
• Understanding of revision version control software. Knowledge of Perforce is ideal

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

HOURLY PAY RANGES
• British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
º $79,900 - $111,900 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
