Job Description
The Chicago White Sox is seeking an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coordinator - Rehab. This is a full-time position that will be based year-round out of our complex in Glendale, Arizona. You'll work closely with the White Sox Medical and Player Development Departments to optimize player health and performance outcomes during the return to performance process. The purpose of this position is to assist with leading the Strength & Conditioning Department in return-to-performance protocols, performance programs, core initiatives and assessments of major and minor league players. The expectation is to objectively demonstrate marked improvement in player key performance indicators.
Responsibilities:
• Work collaboratively within the Sports Performance Department in the disciplines of Sports Science, Performance Nutrition, Mental Performance, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Training to develop holistic athlete centered programs.
• Design and implement strength and conditioning programs for all players in rehab and return-to- performance protocols.
• Prescribe and teach individualized physical development program based on athletes ongoing physical assessments throughout the year.
• Knowledge, experience and willingness to learn and utilize various technologies (wearable and non-wearable).
• Assess and identify current and future initiatives to enhance and maximize human performance specifically to the return to performance process.
• Communicate plans, goals, and progress with players and staff members at specific times of the year. Generation of various reports.
• Ability to interpret data and assist in research driven implementations that bridge the gap from the training room/weight room and onto the field.
• Assist other medical staff when able and necessary with normal day-to-day operations.
• Collaboration with all members of player development and display understanding of sprinting, pitching/throwing, and hitting biomechanics.
• Engage in off-season continuing education to enhance performance department collaborative education.
• Assist with providing off-season staff initiatives and evaluations to enhance growth within our organization.
• Assist with off-season specialty camps.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in related field, Master's degree preferred (exercise science, physical education, biomechanics).
• Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS-NSCA).
• Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC-NSCA).
• Experience with the return to performance process.
• Previous experience in professional baseball is preferred.
• Passionate about the game of baseball and enhancement of associated players.
• Previous experience working in an interdisciplinary high-performance environment.
• Fluent in Spanish highly recommended but not required.
• Excellent written, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Independent judgment and ability to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload.
• High level of interpersonal skills; must have the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization Interest and/or understanding of player development and baseball analytics.
• Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
