Job Description
WWD is hiring a Senior Trending Beauty Editor to create content for wwd.com aligned with what readers are searching for in real-time. This role requires a journalist with a demonstrated interest in driving traffic while covering beauty categories, including fragrance, cosmetics, hair, skincare and more across a range of topics, including brand histories, product releases, celebrity, trends and more. This position is for a writer-editor who thinks creatively, critically and analytically about content that attracts a high-volume readership. Coverage includes news in real-time in addition to feature stories, interviews and evergreen reporting. This role is based in New York.

Responsibilities
• Daily production of stories.
• Ability to manage time efficiently with a fast-paced workload.
• Must be available for evening and weekend coverage of major red carpets and award shows.
• Achieve robust volume and traffic targets.
• Create photos galleries, brainstorm for content ideas, and write evergreen-style stories that resonate with a beauty-obsessed audience.

Requirements
• Must have demonstrated an understanding of metrics-based strategies.
• Commitment to covering content with success as defined by traffic and production performance.
• Journalistic excellence covering beauty at recognized publications with 4+ years of experience.
• Attention to detail, including following specific best practices that directly impact traffic.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and Google Trends.
• Can-do, positive, cooperative and highly motivated attitude.

As PMC values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture.

Typical wage range: $65k - $75k. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range.

The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.
