Photojournalist, WFTS-Tampa (Monday - Friday, Morning Shift)

Scripps is seeking a Photojournalist for our ABC affiliate, WFTS in Tampa, Florida. This role will capture and edit visual content for multiple platforms as well as operate satellite news gathering equipment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Work closely with newsroom personnel to create and develop news stories.
• Operate various news gathering equipment, including but not limited to microwave live truck, video camera, and video editing equipment.
• Drive and operate a Satellite News Gathering (SNG) truck with multiple uplink (analog and digital) and multi-camera production capability.
• Maintain satellite uplink logs and reports as required by law.
• Drive company vehicle for business purposes.
• Utilize graphics software packages for enhanced editing and appealing visual content.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
• Associate degree in related discipline preferred
• Generally 5+ years of experience in related field preferred

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
• Knowledge and demonstration of creativity, editorial judgement, journalistic ethics and libel laws
• knowledge of and proficiency in posting content to station's websites

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must be able to lift 50 pounds

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company required insurance limits.
