Job Title: Photo Archive Assistant (temp)

A little bit about our team:

The Archive Operations team is responsible for storage, access, and preservation of physical and digital assets for WMG Artists and Labels. This includes photography, artwork, audio, video, documents and ephemera for on-roster and legacy artists dating back 75+ years. We provide Library and Archival services for WMG's Labels including Atlantic Records, 300 Elektra Ent., Nonesuch, Parlophone, Rhino, Warner Records, Warner Music Nashville, and many more.

Your role:

As Photo Archive Assistant you will be responsible for organizing and preserving photographic media to archival standards for some of the most iconic artists in music history. This includes organizing images by artist chronologically, placing them into archival preservers and binders, while identifying original photographers based on documentation and online research. You will also have the opportunity to periodically scan requested images and artwork using large format flatbed scanners in support of day to day operations.

Here you'll get to:
• You will consolidate and organize photography collections for artists
• You will rehouse images in archival binders and preservers, utilizing best practices to ensure assets are preserved from damage and deterioration
• You will identify photographers based on provided documentation and online research
• You will catalog assets into WMG's Master Library System
• You will periodically assist with locating and scanning requested images and artwork using flatbed scanners
• You will upload files to Digital Asset Management systems
• You will assist with retrieval, check in, and refile of assets ensuring they are returned to their proper locations.
*Requires lifting boxes up to 30 pounds while using ladders.

About you:
• You are organized, methodical, and have strong attention to detail
• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• You are familiar with archival preservation practices and safe handling of delicate physical media
• You are passionate about photography and have basic knowledge of file formats and specifications
• You enjoy research, metadata tagging and data entry
• You are passionate about music, and can recognize artists across various genres and eras
• You enjoy working on projects independently

We'd love it if you also had:
• A degree in Library Sciences or Graphic Arts
• Prior work experience in professional photography, or working in an archive or Library
• Experience
operating professional flatbed scanners and imaging software
• Intermediate knowledge of Photoshop and the Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience using Digital Asset Management systems

Salary Range
$27.00 Fixed Rate

Salary ranges are included for job postings where required by law. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience and business needs. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external factors.
