Job Description
RTR Senior Accountant, EMEA Studios will be a member of the EMEA Studios Accounting Controllership team based in Warsaw, Poland, reporting to RTR Accounting Manager. The Accounting Controllers Team is responsible for monthly and quarterly US GAAP reporting, preparing the statutory financial statements (in numerous GAAPs), review of account reconciliations and support for global financial reporting processes. Everyday responsibilities include ensuring compliance during audits, as well as with SEC and SOX guidelines. The Team closely cooperates with other relevant stakeholders, including the tax team, GBS, as well as external vendors. The EMEA Accounting Controllership Team is responsible for multiple countries from the Studios segment in the region, including UK, Germany, France, Poland, Italy, Nordics and more.
In this role, you should have a solid understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP preferred). You will report to one of the RTR Accounting Managers.
Your Role Accountabilities…
• Proactively performing assigned tasks and processes within accounting area applying US GAAP, including management accounts and forecasting,
• Oversee accounting close process together with outsource providers, provide guidance to the BPO team and support troubleshooting and problem solving during month end close,
• Ensure compliance with SOX requirements, internal control environment as applicable,
• Preparation of the periodical management reports, BS Flux and SEC schedules, reconciliations including applicable regular analyses and metrics as well as ad hoc reporting,
• Cooperate with the Studios EMEA BPO offshore team in India seeking out process improvements and standardization opportunities to gain greater efficiency and effectiveness,
• Work on resolving any intercompany discrepancies within the group,
• Cooperation with internal and external auditors,
• Oversee outsource provider for the timely completion and accuracy of account reconciliations to ensure balance sheet accuracy,
• Engage with key Studio EMEA controllership stakeholders, including FP&A, GBS and act as point of escalation.
Qualifications & Experience…
• Graduate in Finance, Accounting,
• At least 4 years of work experience in an accounting role in the area of GL and a strong understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP preferred),
• Prior work experience in large international company,
• Strong technical skills including deep understanding of ERP system (SAP preferred), MS Office applications, Excel in particular is a must,
• Very good written and spoken English is a must,
• Detailed-oriented with a strong desire to meet deadlines and other relevant performance metrics,
• Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional team members at all levels.
