Job Description
The Senior Accountant, EMEA Studios will be a member of the EMEA Studios Accounting Controllership team based in Warsaw, Poland, reporting to Accounting Manager. The Accounting Controllers Team is responsible for monthly and quarterly US GAAP reporting, preparing the statutory financial statements (in numerous GAAPs), review of account reconciliations and support for global financial reporting processes. Everyday responsibilities include ensuring compliance during audits, as well as with SEC and SOX guidelines. The Team closely cooperates with other relevant stakeholders, including the tax team, GBS, as well as external vendors. The EMEA Accounting Controllership Team is responsible for multiple countries from the Studios segment in the region, including UK, Germany, France, Poland, Italy, Nordics and more.
In this role, you should have a solid understanding of IFRS and/or US GAAP as well as Polish Accounting Regulations. You will report to one of the Accounting Managers.
Your Role Accountabilities…
• Proactively performing assigned tasks and processes within accounting area applying IFRS/US GAAP + relevant local GAAP expertise, including statutory financial statements preparation.
• Assist with the management of the statutory audit process including planning, fieldwork and finalisation, through liaison with the external auditor, business unit finance teams, tax team and senior management
• Support in reviewing complex financial reporting transactions,
• Support in preparation of the periodical management reports, BS Flux and SEC schedules, reconciliations including applicable regular analyses and metrics as well as ad hoc reporting.
• Assist in special or routine projects, generate ad hoc analysis or duties as assigned.
• Liaise with company secretary on board and Companies House requirements
• Liaise with Legal regarding legal issues
• Liaise with Treasury regarding treasury issues
• Liaise with shared delivery centres with regard to SAP journal postings and reporting deliverables, including clearing down balances in SAP company codes as applicable
• Assist with the set up of new statutory entities as applicable
• Assist with an entity rationalization project, to make dormant and subsequently strike off a number of small entities
Qualifications & Experience…
• Graduate in Finance, Accounting
• ACCA qualification or Polish CA preferred (or equivalent)
• Understanding of IFRS, Polish accounting regulations is a must
• UK GAAP will be an asset
• Big4 experience preferable
• Strong knowledge of MS Office applications, Excel in particular is a must,
• Knowledge of One Source (Thomson Reuters software) will be an asset
• Very good written and spoken English is a must
• Experience with enterprise information systems, (SAP) a strong plus and preferred.
