Job Summary/Description:
Atlanta News First is looking for a versatile, experienced anchor to join our evening anchor team. The right candidate for this position is a team player who can help elevate our content, develop our team, and connect with our audience.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Anchor/ co-anchor 2-3 hours of live, local broadcast news daily
- Fill in on other newscasts as needed
- Anchor digital segments as assigned
- Create compelling content for broadcast, streaming, digital, and social platforms daily
- Generate enterprise story ideas; turn an enterprise story minimum of 2x per month
- Be a leader in the newsroom by actively engaging in the editorial process and mentoring journalists
- Develop a strong network of sources in the community
- Represent Atlanta News First by actively participating in community events
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience as an on-air broadcast journalist; 5 years of anchoring experience preferred
- Major market experience preferred
- Strong writing skills
- Strong time-management skills
- Must provide a link to recent examples of reporting and anchoring
