 Visual Data Media Services is an award winning multimedia company, with offices in Burbank, London, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Manila and Bangalore. We offer a full range of post-production, localization and media distribution services for feature films and television content.

Our services include encoding, transcoding, editing, color correction, digital distribution, media asset management, quality control, subtitling and closed captioning, voice-over dubbing, script creation, audio, tape duplication and conversions, as well as creative post production services.

Our state of the art, 30,000 square-foot facility located in Burbank, CA is custom built for repurposing and distributing video content and represents a multi-million dollar investment in our clients’ future.

We are currently seeking a friendly, professional, and customer service oriented Accounting Managerto support the VP of Finance, CFO and the broader management team.

Must have a clear understanding of the Accounting & Finance role in the organization, possess a high level of attention to detail, and manage multiple priorities with a sense of ownership and urgency.

Candidate must also be able to maintain strict confidentiality, have a can-do attitude, and work autonomously.

Position is full time at our location in Burbank CA and includes benefits such as Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401K, vacation, sick and holiday pay. This position will be hybrid, with 3-4 days in office and 1-2 days remote. Salary range: $85K-$95K

Summary:

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the general accounting and financial reporting management of the Company’s domestic operations. This critical position may have direct contact with executive management and will be under the direction of the VP of Finance.

The primary responsibility will be the oversight of the daily accounting operations for the department. This position will develop, establish, document and enforce proper accounting methods, procedures, and policies. TheAccounting Manager will develop a consistent and efficient month-end close processes that ensures the timely dissemination of accurate and GAAP-compliant monthly results.

TheAccounting Manager must have the ability to independently identify and resolve process inefficiencies. TheAccounting Manager will be responsible for leading various projects and must have the ability to work cross-functionally with other areas of the business to coordinate and manage the timely completion of the assigned projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

· Monthly financial closing

· Payroll

· Maintain the general ledger and assist in the month-end and year-end close process

· Reconcile, maintain and analyze account information for preparation of financial reports

· Review journal entries and account analysis of other accounting professionals

· Assist with the treasury function and cash flow management

· Assist in the supervision and training of the department’s staff accountants

· AR and AP supervisory duties

· Audit processes

· Fixed Assets

· Monthly, Quarterly & Annual Reporting

· Assist with audits and taxes including preparing various reports for taxes, external auditors, regulatory agencies and other stakeholders

· Protect organizational information by keeping documents secure and confidential

· Participate in internal and external trainings to keep knowledge of accounting guidance relevant

· Make estimates for various accounts that require familiarity with the company and accounting guidance as well as professional judgment

· Prepare and analyze various reports including financial, budget and ad hoc reports

· Perform other related duties as assigned or related to position


Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business

· 5+ years related experience

· Must have experience in large ERP systems

· Background in postproduction, media or related entertainment industry desirable, but not necessary

· Microsoft Office skills are essential; including intermediate or advanced Excel skills with knowledge of formulas, pivot tables and v-lookup preferred

· CPA preferred but not required depending on the candidate’s experience

Physical Demands:

· Continual computer keyboard and monitor use while sitting to perform desk-related work for extended periods of time.

· Continual use of telephone system to receive and convey information

· Occasional walking, grasping, reaching, bending, carrying, and lifting (up to 20 lbs.)

· Position may require employee to be available to work overtime, depending on the Company service requirements

· Position may require employee to be available to work 8 hours a day and 5 days a week, depending on the Company scheduling requirements

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear

Work Environment:

The Accounting Manager position works in an office environment, utilizing a phone, computer and printed data to perform work. The office environment is typically quiet with ambient temperatures that are normally controlled by heater units or A/C units. The Accounting Manager often sits for long periods of time and may work in a time-sensitive environment related to client and service completion, resulting in a demanding and fast paced environment.
