The Role and What You'll Do:
The Strength & Conditioning Coordinator supports the Senior Director and Manager of Strength & Conditioning in providing elite-level consultation and training to improve athletes' performance. This role works with an interdisciplinary team of experts across Sports Medicine, Performance Nutrition, and Sport Science to support world-class athletes' performance development through the creation, implementation, and evaluation of strength and conditioning programs.
• Supports the design, development, and delivery of individualized comprehensive strength and conditioning programs; measure and monitor progress, and modify programs as needed.
• Documents athlete status and daily weightlifting programs, progress, and performance as related to camp phases.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary support staff to deliver holistic performance development strategies.
• Effectively communicates with and educates athletes, coaches, and the Senior Vice President of Performance on the application and benefits of strength and conditioning principles specific to MMA and other sports.
• Manages Strength & Conditioning internship program, providing weekly curriculum and education sessions.
• Supports data collection process, including information such as baseline testing and measurements, load monitoring, key performance indicators, exercise and treatment logs, injuries, and specific return to play programs for athletes.
• Assists in evaluation and implementation of sports science technology.
• Other tasks, duties, and projects as assigned.
You Have These:
• Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or other related curriculum required; Master's Degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in science, research, and strength and conditioning fields.
• Certification as Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES), UKSCA, or ASCA Level 2 and above.
• Previous experience working effectively in a high-performance environment with elite athletes and coaches.
• Understanding of existing evidence-based research, and the implementation of new research areas to enhance the sport, athletes, and coaches.
• Prior use and application of sports performance technology and athlete monitoring tools is a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with members at all levels of the organization.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office platforms, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
• Personal or professional experience in combat or contact sport is preferred, but not required.
• Understanding of the demands of the MMA sport (i.e. physical, physiology, gender-specific, weight categories, weight management, travel requirements, etc.) is preferred.
