The Role and What You'll Do:
The Media Asset Coordinator in Metadata and Closed Captioning is responsible for the procurement, management, and organization of ancillary files and metadata for all UFC post-produced media, with a special attention to captions and subtitles. To accomplish this task, the hired candidate should have experience with media asset management techniques, closed captioning authoring workflows and delivery, and metadata implementation. This position will work with our award-winning UFC video production, content creation and product management teams to ensure quality and compliance in media deliverables and improve internal organization and metadata leveraging.
• Organizes ancillary media files, initiates metadata creation and association, and instills naming taxonomy within UFC's Production MAM environment (Reach Engine) and first-party OTT CMS platforms.
• Manages all facets of closed captioning and subtitle workflows including creation, library storage, metadata leveraging, and delivery.
• Orders, verifies, and provides quality checks for closed captioning, subtitling and ancillary assets from CC vendors including ASR platforms and other partners.
• Coordinates delivery traffic of ancillary files for domestic (ESPN), international, and digital broadcast partners, notably video with embedded closed captioning and sidecar CC files.
• Adjusts closed captioning for re-delivery based upon media versioning and partner requirements, and sometimes fully authors or edits closed captioning files for short turnaround to meet broadcast standards.
• Collaborates with post-production, digital, and OTT teams in caption and metadata deliverables and organization.
• Stay current with industry technology advancements in the field of ASR, AI image recognition, metadata automation with machine learning and related areas to recommend workflow efficiencies.
• Other tasks, projects, and responsibilities as assigned.
You Have These:
• High school diploma or GED, college degree preferred.
• Experience managing large sets of digital assets, metadata, media, and/or ancillary files (CC).
• Prior experience in video closed captioning workflows or authoring (i.e. closed captioning editor, supervisor, traffic manager / supervisor]. First-hand closed caption editing or authoring
• Prior experience with Media Asset Management platforms (DAM or MAM), CMS platforms, file transcoding, media production and captioning authoring software systems (i.e. Reach Engine, Dalet, Catdv, IPV, Telestream CaptionMaker, MacCaption, Adobe Creative Suite)
• Familiarity with digital video formats, metadata standards, closed captioning and subtitling formats, and post-production workflows.
• Media library or digital library file naming and organization taxonomy experience is a plus.
• Project or Traffic coordination experience is a plus.
• Quality control, verification, and compliance experience is a plus.
• Excellent written communication skills, grammar, and proofreading abilities.
• Self-motivated personality with ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and partners.
• Excellent organization skills and pays close attention to detail.
• Familiarity with the sport of MMA.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
