Job Description

The Development Tester will work closely with all departments to ensure they meet their goals and ensure that the QA team is kept updated on developments. Testing both the game and supporting tools, the development tester should have a good understanding of the Game Development Life Cycle and has a keen eye for detail to identify issues, conduct thorough investigation, and clearly report them via verbal and written bug reports.

Responsibilities:
• Write clear reports on findings and communicate status to the teams involved.
• Perform daily smoke tests to ensure stability of the build.
• Verify fixes made and cooperate in production of build/release notes.
• Work closely with the assigned team to identify areas to test and construct clear and relevant checklist criteria or test cases – from assets to features.
• Support the development team in investigation of issues and of potential fixes.
• Follow priorities given by a leadership role to ensure team-wide goals are met.
• Communicate project development updates to the QA team for alignment.
• Create & update documentation on processes, best practices, and tools.
• Contribute ideas and/or create opportunities pushing for process improvements.
• Perform other duties as assigned, relevant to the QA team, project, or studio.

Qualifications
• Passionate gamer with experience in console and PC titles.
• Experience in game testing (mobile, console, PC), and/or software testing.
• Experience working alongside development teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Ability to communicate well in small group discussions and presentations.
• Understanding of PC hardware and networking concepts.
• Experience in game engines is a plus.
• Experience in online and multiplayer games during alpha or beta phases is a plus.
• Experience in automation testing is a plus.
• Experience in programming is a plus.
