You are a strong leader and communicator, comfortable providing direction, while also being willing to jump in and help whenever necessary.

In this role, you will:

Program Development & Delivery:
• Design, deliver, and help incubate a range of sustainability related initiatives and services in partnership with internal and external stakeholders including all Live Nation Canada venues, festivals, touring teams and industry partners that help deliver against sustainability goals and priorities including emissions, energy, waste, public engagement and more
• Drive Zero Waste sustainability efforts.
• Create and manage sustainability dashboards and pipelines to share with Executive Team and key stakeholders.
• Lead sustainability strategy and execution for Live Nation Canada's owned and operated Venues and Festivals nationally.
• Evaluate efficacy of current sustainability programs considering cost effectiveness, feasibility, ease of integration; make recommendations and implement improvements as necessary.
• Work with venue leaders to design a comprehensive zero waste plan with actionable goals, improvement areas, a current map and material flow, and a tracking system for accountability.

Training & Engagement:
• Act as lead for Live Nation sustainability initiatives; deliver on site presence at venues/festivals where applicable to ensure operational procedures in place.
• Deploy sustainability communication and engagement assets to all venue/festival teams and departments.
• Collaborate with seasonal staff, venue and festival leads to build enthusiasm and participation around sustainability efforts.
• Provide regular updates to entire venue and festival staff to share progress and identify areas of improvement.
• Build strong relationships with cross-functional internal teams as well as external partners to integrate sustainability into operations.
• Collaborate with the Marketing and Sponsorship departments to regularly share venue/festival sustainability highlights.
• Other tasks as assigned by the Senior Director, Business Operations including but not limited to local community and vendor engagement.

Resource Recovery & Material Circularity Operations:
• Oversee and assist with the material sorting process of all recycling, composting, reuse, and donations materials to increase resource recovery and diversion from landfill.
• On-site presence when required to ensure compliance and quality control of all implemented initiatives.
• Identify key opportunities and partnerships to expand the material circularity model throughout the year.
• Build or maintain connections with local partners and waste haulers to stay up to date on accepted divertible materials and options for resource recovery.
• Create a lively and positive atmosphere across front of house and back of house waste operations.

Reporting and Data Collection:
• Leverage metrics and data to report on progress and build business case for sustainability projects and investments that advance sustainability and business goals.
• Acquire weight tickets and chain of custody receipts by establishing relationships with waste haulers and resource recovery vendors.
• Update and manage data tracking and reporting spreadsheet on a minimum monthly basis.
• Create engaging visual reports throughout the year that can be shared nationally.

Qualifications:
• A degree in Business, Sustainability/Environmental Science, Marketing/Communications, or related technical field.
• Masters Degree an asset
• 5+ of experience in business development, consulting, project management and/or implementing sustainability programs, ideally in a large, matrixed organization
• Creative thinker and problem solver.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Acute sense of judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
• A strong sense of teamwork and ability to execute programs.
• Time management and the ability to excel in an unstructured environment.
• Ability to travel, including weekends and evenings.
• Passion for driving environmental impact through both hands-on and administrative work.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

Stationary position for extended periods of time at a computer station or work desk; movement throughout the day; occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.; ability to
operate computers and office equipment for up to 8 hours each day; move up to 10 pounds regularly; exposed to typical office environment conditions and noise levels.
