Job Description

We’re an award-winning, independent studio in the heart of Mount Pleasant, and we’re looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our People and Culture team.

This is a full-cycle recruiting role responsible for building relationships with candidates and internal staff to hire the best, most diverse talent for The Embassy. Reporting to the People and Culture Manager, we’re looking for someone with a creative and innovative spirit, responsible for co-creating and delivering programs and initiatives around workforce planning, employer brand building, sourcing and recruiting, interviewing and selecting quality talent in a highly competitive market.


Some things you’ll be doing:

  • Taking part in recruitment events such as virtual (or in-person when it permits) Career Fairs.

  • Setting up a sourcing strategy based on knowledge of studio requirements and maintaining an active candidate pool to pull from.

  • Work with internal leaders to assist in building candidate pools, phone screens, reference checks, making hiring recommendations and communicating and negotiating job offers.

  • Provide outstanding candidate and hiring manager experience throughout whole recruitment process.

  • Provide recommendations to positively affect current recruitment strategy.

  • Committing to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.

  • Develop a strong understanding of the business and industry, monitor industry news to advise managers on current markets.

  • Remain active on Social Media to positively promote The Embassy’s brand.

  • Manage applicants using an ATS.


What you’ll need to be successful in this role:

  • Be an approachable, skilled relationship builder.

  • 3-5 years of experience in an people and culture capacity.

  • Experience with an ATS such as Bamboo HR, Hiring Thing, Jazz HR.

  • Knowledge of local employment legislation (knowledge of immigration practices is a strong asset).

  • Stellar written and oral communication skills with particular attention to detail and accuracy is a must .

  • Desire to be part of driving an overall recruitment strategy for the studio.

  • Knowledge or experience within the Digital Media and Entertainment industry (experience in film/ VFX is a strong asset).

  • Ability to coach up and follow up on tasks.

  • Sound judgment and the ability to manage several tasks at one time.

  • Skill to reprioritize tasks as needed.
