The Sr. Specialist, Corporate IT – Workday Time & Absence is a pivotal role focused on the analysis, design, implementation, testing, and technical support of the Workday Time Tracking and Absence modules, as well as data integration with the UKG Pro/UTA Payroll application. This specialist will collaborate closely with the Workforce Management, Human Resources, Payroll IT, and Payroll Operations teams to assist in the planning and management of Time Tracking and Absence processes.
Key responsibilities include supporting the configuration and enhancement of Workday Time Tracking and Absence functionalities in the US and Canada, along with other additional regions. This role will work alongside the Payroll Operations, Payroll IT, P&O, Workforce Management teams on essential tasks aimed at optimizing payroll processes as well as Workday functionality in all areas.
As a subject matter expert on Workday data and its implications for payroll systems, the specialist will aid in ensuring seamless payroll execution in collaboration with Payroll Operations. This hands-on role involves implementing solutions and supporting business changes related to Workday Timekeeping and Absence, along with payroll processing and related integrations for our US and Canadian workforce.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Analyze, update, and maintain Workday Time, Absence and other related Workday modules, ensuring accuracy and compliance with business requirements.
• Provide hands-on support for implementing business changes in Workday and associated integrations, including WECI and PECI for worker populations in the US and Canada.
• Troubleshoot and resolve weekly payroll issues between Workday and the payroll system to ensure smooth payroll processing.
• Assist with internal and external audits related to payroll, helping to maintain the integrity of payroll data in Workday.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and support the maintenance of Workday time tracking processes.
• Help with enhancements and testing of new releases related to time and payroll initiatives from a Workday perspective.
• Identify and suggest improvements related to Workday data processing for payroll, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Work closely with Payroll Operations and Human Resources to address payroll policies, procedures, and related issues.
• Provide support in other areas as needed to ensure overall operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Stay updated on new features and enhancements in Workday to maximize system potential.
Key Competencies/Core Knowledge
• Strong understanding of Time and Absence functions and processes within Workday.
• Knowledge of Workday modules related to Time and Absence.
• Excellent customer service skills, able to assess needs and manage expectations effectively.
• Strong communication skills, capable of interacting with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Ability to collaborate with HR, IT, and Finance teams for effective problem-solving.
• Comfortable working under tight deadlines and making informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to facilitate discussions with functional owners and end-users to ensure effective solutions.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Accounting, Human Resources, Information Management, MIS, related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Minimum five (5) years progressive experience in Workday, with a concentration on time tracking, absence, and payroll functional domain.
• Strong technical skills with Workday Time Tracking, Absence and Projects are a must.
Other capabilities with Kronos, ADP or other software are a plus
• Strong understanding of Workday HCM and time tracking data impact to downstream payroll systems.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook) is required.
• Ability to meet deadlines and perform under pressure and job ambiguity.
• Leverage technical knowledge and expertise to drive improvements.
• Support HCM and Payroll audits, error handling and issue resolution.
The anticipated base salary for this position is $82,000-$125,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
