Legal Administrative Assistant

Sony Pictures Entertainment's Corporate Legal Department is looking to hire a dedicated, enthusiastic and motivated assistant to be based in its new London office. The focus of the role will be to assist the legal team, who support Sony Pictures Entertainment's Theatrical, Digital and Television businesses throughout the EMEA region.
Responsibilities will include assisting a number of lawyers in the London office, as well as managing the process for payment of legal invoices and general office administrative matters. This is an opportunity to join a strong, well-established and sociable legal team that works on ground-breaking issues and encourages professional growth. The assistant will report to a Vice President, Legal Affairs.
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:
• Self-starter with a proactive and positive attitude to their work that takes ownership of tasks and is able to work independently as well as with other employees.
• Able to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
• Process orientated and patient in working through internal finance and other processes.
• Able to multi-task, efficiently handle complex procedures (such document execution across territories/time zones) prioritize and manage challenging deadlines.
• Close attention to detail.
• Willingness to project manage and update certain elements of departmental administration, such as archiving.
It will be beneficial, but not essential to have:
• An understanding of the requirements of an in-house legal department.
• An understanding of payment processes and willingness to expand skills in this area.
• Some relevant experience with a studio, network, multinational media company or major law firm.
• Typically a years' worth of relevant legal PA or administrative experience.
