Job Description
Sinclair prides itself on being first-on-the-scene whenever there is breaking news in our local markets, and through our relentless follow-up we have often played an invaluable role in solving the unsolved. With nearly 30 years of archival content, and more offenses happening every day, we are creating a new digital destination to unite armchair detectives across the country as we dive deeper into the world of True Crime.

As part of our expansion into genre reporting, Sinclair, Inc. is looking for a seasoned newsroom professional to join our Criminally Obsessed team and lead a small group of digitally focused reporters covering the current cases and courtrooms dominating armchair detective's feeds. In partnership with the VP, Social Media you will develop and execute a multi-platform content strategy that puts us first-on-the-scene at the murders and mysteries currently igniting conversation online. To be successful in this role you must have a passion for true crime content, an insatiable curiosity that will push us to take our coverage deeper, and a dedication to accuracy that will lead us to become a trusted source in the industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Monitor Sinclair stations and other national news sources to identify and track stories for potential coverage.
• Lead daily content strategy sessions and determine timely coverage plans tapping into the best practices of each digital platform (YouTube, Facebook, IG, X, Reddit, etc) and their various creative mediums (photo, video, audio, etc)
• Oversee the production and delivery of all approved digital programming, as well as any supporting materials necessary to ensure success.
• Collaborate with Regional Digital Content Team to identify and amplify existing stories.
• Ensure all content aligns with the brand aesthetic, established tone of voice, and follows journalistic best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS
• 7-10 years writing/producing news content with a focus on true crime coverage.
• 5+ years leadership experience overseeing teams at a news station
• Social Media expert with extensive familiarity with all platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and other production tools.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and in person.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, retain and motivate team; willingness to delegate responsibilities and ability to effectively lead
