Job Description
7News is seeking an energetic, smart, curious, and creative Manager of Audience Engagement & Growth. In this role, you will be tasked with coordinating with our on-air talent, field crews and in-house producers to produce news stories throughout the day on social media platforms while engaging with the 7News audience.

You must be someone who understands how to grow our social media following using data and trends. At '7 News On Your Side', we are committed to reaching out to the diverse communities across our region and social media is a great place to make these connections. In this role, you will be charged daily with growing engagement across our station's social media platforms while listening to and interacting with our audience where they are.

As we continue to try to increase our station's digital and social presence, this role will be vital to not only to grow the station's metrics, but help talent grow and engage their audience as well.

Some of the duties of this role include:
• Leading social media posting and strategy, coordinating and putting together plans for big news events
• Coordinating and leading social training sessions for talent and using their metrics to build a social media strategy for each of them
• Having a positive approach and understanding how to coach/ manage members in the newsroom on social media best practices
• Candidate must be able to write Digital content/web stories and produce social media content.
• Candidate must be knowledgeable in Google Analytics, Sprout, YouTube Analytics, Tagboard and other data software.
• Experience in editing and producing video and using Photoshop or related software to create graphics
• The ability to deep dive into web and social analytics of not just our station but also our competition, to see where we can improve and what we should change about our overall social strategy
• Social media strategy must show growth across social media platforms as well as help meet KPIs for YouTube and wjla.com
• Working with reporters in the field and in-house producers to build stories across social media throughout the day
• Looking for viral, shareable content online that can increase web traffic and social engagement across all platforms, including TV
• Must be able to work with other departments on their social strategy for sales/news campaigns

Requirements:
• News experience is required
• 5 to 7 years of social media management experience
• At least 1 to 2 years of experience managing people
• Degree in marketing, journalism, or a related field preferred
