Job Profile:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Simon & Schuster UK's literary imprint, Scribner, in an entry level editorial position on a 12-month fixed term contract.

We are looking for a well-organised Editorial Assistant to provide support across all areas of the Scribner list, reporting to the Publishing Director.

The Role:

The primary function of this role is to provide editorial and administrative support and overseeing the smooth and timely publication of the titles on the Scribner list – around 15 new books a year currently, both fiction and non-fiction, plus paperbacks and reissues.

The Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will be highly efficient, adept at prioritising and working to deadlines, have a meticulous eye for detail, and a flair for writing copy.

They will be self-possessed and unflappable with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

We are keen to hear from the widest possible range of candidates. As this is an entry level role, previous experience in publishing isn't required, but a genuine love of literary fiction and non-fiction and the ability to read broadly is essential. Some awareness of or interest in the publishing landscape would be welcomed.
