About the role
Reporting to the Children's Publishing Manager, the Children's Publishing Assistant will provide full administrative support across Children's Publishing Management tasks including audio administrative tasks.
This is a varied operational role that sits at the heart of the Children's Division and requires collaboration with all departments, helping them run smoothly and to deadline. The Children's Publishing Assistant will be a point of contact for different departments and be an advocate for robust understanding of our systems, metadata feeds and inter-departmental processes.
Responsibilities
• Assist with adoption of new solutions and processes including delivery and creation of internal training plans for key systems, and materials and documentation.
• Assist with updating the Publishing Programmes and title schedules, and act as a point of contact for other departments.
• Assist with monitoring of new acquisitions and managing title metadata in accordance with critical path deadlines.
• Children's audio administrative tasks such as file and invoice handling, and acting as a point of contact for audio production partners.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently whilst also be a team player
• Curiosity and willingness to learn; proactive nature
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
• An enthusiasm for books and reading
Experience
• Some experience in an office environment is desirable
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, Sharepoint) is strongly desirable
• Previous experience in an administrative role is desirable
