Job Description
The main responsibility of the Assistant General Manager of the Stockton Kings is to support the General Manager of Stockton in all areas of team operations in the G League while also contributing to amateur/grassroots scouting for the Sacramento Kings. This role has dual responsibilities at both the G League and NBA level. The Assistant General Manager of Stockton contributes to staffing, team logistics, roster management while also serving as a grassroots scout in player personnel. Front office management of Stockton are required to coordinate and execute plans across multiple pillars of the organization while communicating effectively with staff, players and player representatives. In addition to the core responsibilities of Stockton, this role will require attending both amateur and professional basketball events and analyzing film/statistics while gathering sensitive information. This position requires unconventional hours and regular travel both in and out of season. It is also required to participate in both Stockton and Sacramento Kings' personnel meetings throughout the year. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who meets deadlines, thinks critically, handles sensitive information with confidentiality and possesses strong interpersonal skills.
Essential Functions (Duties & Responsibilities):
• Collaborate with G League coaching staff to implement the vision and identity of the team
• Co-manage G League support staff such as travel, equipment, medical and performance
• Organize, communicate and support the day-to-day operations of the Kings' minor league system
• Provide an in-depth understanding of G League rules and established contacts within the industry
• Identify, evaluate & track prospects at various levels of basketball with a focus on grassroots basketball
• Attend high school, AAU and international scouting events to evaluate top amateur-level prospects
• Manage & update grassroots prospect lists
• Participate in multiple scouting meetings throughout the season
• Analyze film and use statistical resources to evaluate players
• Research prospect both on and off the floor while producing extensive intel and scouting reports
• Document and submit reports into a database in a timely manner
• Network with basketball contacts while representing the Kings professionally
• Generate presentations and materials using various Microsoft Office platforms
• Meet deadlines, performance goals and benchmarks
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 4+ years of basketball/team operations experience preferred
• Broad and diverse network of basketball contacts preferred
• Basketball analysis, coaching or playing experience preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Proficient in video platforms such as Synergy, HUDL, Hoop 1 and/or Sports Code
Compensation:
The expected salary range for this exempt role is $70,000 - $80,000. Final offers for this role will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided. Years of experience, skills, and other factors are considered when determining the salary offered. Total compensation & offer package will include the following:
