Job Description

Penske Media Real Estate (PMRe), a division of Penske Media Corp. (PMC), is hiring a skilled and experienced Boat Engine Mechanic and Licensed Captain. This critical role involves maintaining and repairing a range of watercraft, including ferry boats, water ski boats, jet skis, and barges, while also serving as a licensed captain when needed.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform regular maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on all watercraft, ensuring they remain in safe and optimal operating condition.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on boats, jet skis, and barges, using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify potential problems and address them proactively.
• Maintain accurate records of all repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory.
• Operate vessels safely and efficiently, transporting passengers and cargo while adhering to maritime safety protocols. Requires a valid captain's license and strong knowledge of vessel operations. Assist in the coordination of vessel schedules to ensure efficient operation and minimal downtime.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
• Provide guidance and training to staff on basic watercraft maintenance and safety procedures.

Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a boat mechanic, with expertise in maintaining a variety of watercraft.
• Valid captain's license with the necessary endorsements to operate vessels as required.
• Strong knowledge of marine engine systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and software for marine equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, as needed.
