Editorial Assistant, Alpha Books, DK (Open to Remote)

Primary responsibilities:

We are looking for a detail-oriented, meticulous self-starter who loves books and is invested in the process of bringing them to a wide readership. Our ideal candidate has strong writing and analytical skills, communicates clearly, is comfortable asking for help when needed, and wants to be an active participant on a collaborative team. The Editorial Assistant participates in the development of book projects from acquisition to publication, serving as a liaison between editors and external parties including authors, agents, and freelancers. Daily responsibilities include:
• All-around project support for the editors
• Writing title information sheets, online copy, and cover copy
• Coordinating with freelancers
• Updating book metadata
• Preparing manuscripts for transmittal to copy editing and layout
• Preparing paperwork, including contract requests and freelancer agreements
• Tracking project schedules and budgets

Job requirements:
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Familiarity with and/or interest in adult nonfiction title categories, particularly cookbooks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to respond quickly and flexibly to diverse requests
• Ability to use available resources to problem solve
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Word

The entry-level salary for this position is $43,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results. Kindly include your cover letter and resume in our application system.
