Nickelodeon has built a diverse multi-platform business by putting kids first in everything it does – Kids Rule! Launched in 1993, the top-performing Nickelodeon network comprises seven dedicated entertainment channels for kids aged 4-15 and their families: Nickelodeon, Nickelodeon HD, Nickelodeon +1, Nicktoons, Nick Jr., Nick Jr. +1 and Nick Jr. Too.
Content is at the core of the business with critically-acclaimed and hugely-popular television programming from the UK and around the world merging with bespoke content online and a dedicated Nick app, as well as consumer product and recreation opportunities such as the UK's first-ever Nick theme park and Nickelodeon Land. Not to mention our ever-growing portfolio of UK events, such as Slimefest.
WHAT IS THE ROLE:
Are you passionate about kids TV? If so, then this role is perfect for you. The UK marketing team is looking for a Marketing Assistant to help assist in shaping the Nickelodeon brand. You'll contribute towards developing exciting and engaging campaigns on our owned channels and advertising externally to launch new shows and market existing hits. You'll manage your own projects from end to end, from channel stunts to assisting with events, and being responsible for the day-to-day management of our affiliate partners (Sky, BT TV, Virgin Media, Amazon Prime and Talk Talk). Ultimately, our aim is to drive commercial and brand success by delivering on awareness, engagement and brand perception – and you could be a part of that!
What you will be doing:
• Assist in delivering marketing campaigns
• Support with the co-ordination of multi-platform stunts & competitions.
• Organise brainstorms with multiple internal teams to form new creative ideas.
• Source suitable prizes with the Consumer Products team & arranging prize fulfilment.
• Work with compliance & legal to ensure fair & robust competition T&Cs.
• Ensure deadlines are met and that teams are kept updated & supported in a timely manner.
• Support in writing post campaign analysis reports.
• Manage the day to day affiliate marketing activity
• Become the day to day contact for all affiliate content & asset marketing requests.
• Create and distribute monthly programming highlight trackers and e-mailers.
• Distribute assets in a timely manner to maximise exposure through affiliate marketing channels.
• Maintain the monthly affiliate marketing tracker to capture & report on all activity.
• Feedback & approve our branding across affiliate marketing assets.
• Help to create compelling brand decks for the team to present our key priorities to partners.
• Aid the marketing team with event organisation
• Work across multiple teams to collate invite lists, send invites & tracking RSVP's.
• Brief in artwork and provide creative feedback on assets.
• Help with VIP hosting at Nickelodeon events & premieres.
• Source product items for VIP goody bags.
• Manage the Nick Jr. Fan Club
• Work with our external agency to send monthly e-newsletters to our subscription base.
• Complete the briefing template with creative and compelling copy aligned to channel priorities.
• Work with the digital team to source new monthly activities.
• Maintain the Fan Club content tracker with upcoming priorities and ideas.
• Review and monitor key trends with parents, brainstorming seasonal ideas and takeovers.
• Budget tracking
• Day to day management of the marketing spend track, with full responsibility for ensuring all POs are raised in a timely manner and spend is fully accounted for & reconciled.
• Provide administrative support & other duties
• Oversee the merchandise inventory and storage facility.
• Oversee annual merchandise budget and source new promotional items.
• Assist the marketing team on adhoc projects.
• Keep up to date with popular creators/vloggers and help spot new & emerging social influencers.
• Support the wider Viacom marketing team (MTV, Comedy Central, Channel 5) when required.
WHAT SKILLS DO YOU NEED…
• Proven experience working in a marketing team (preferably within entertainment or media)
• An ideas person whilst possessing the eagerness & drive to make them happen
• Organised, with a strong attention to detail
• Comfortable working on a variety of projects with multiple deadlines
• Proactive and self-motivated solution finder who takes the initiative to deliver results and support your team.
• Good at building relationships with colleagues as well as with external partners.
• Experience in using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
