Queen City News (WJZY) produces more news than any other station in the state, and we are building a unique and highly localized news brand with a marketing focus on quality and creativity.

The Graphic Designer will be a highly motivated, passionate, and creative individual. This position will be responsible for creating motion graphics, still / print graphics… and helping to elevate the creative on-air output with unique typography, VFX and knowing where the ''cool'' button is on the keyboard.
• Work closely with Marketing Director and Marketing Manager to conceive and execute large market-worthy designs, graphics and projects.
• Work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment and ensure that assigned projects are delivered on time.
• Inspire others by pushing the creative envelope to new heights while adhering to brand guidelines.
• Produce client sponsored web banners, graphics, and content if/when needed.
• Perform other related duties, as assigned.

Requirements & Skills:
• First and foremost, a passion for being creative and staying up to date with work around the country.
• Minimum 3-years of motion graphics / still graphics at a local station or cable network working in a news environment or an equivalent background is required.
• Must be advanced level in at least TWO of the following four disciplines:
• Strong Adobe After Effects motion design skills
• Special Effects / compositing within the Adobe Suite
• Photography (retouching) & print design.
• Possess 3D design / effects abilities in C4D
• A reel or collection of work examples – including specific responsibilities you performed for each included -- is required.
• Expert eye for typography and layout.
• Possess excellent communication, presentation, organization, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully interact with all departments.
• Must have ability to work daytime hours regularly and flexible hours including weekends when needed
• This is not a remote position.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
