Job Description
OVERVIEW

8 month fixed term contract

Ideally 4 days a week

The HR Manager is a true business partner to the NBCUniversal businesses in the Netherlands and Belgium (about 75 people across three businesses). This role drives the local HR agenda with both a people centric and commercial mind-set, aimed at driving the business forward. All aspects of the employee life cycle are touched upon and the best employee experience is pursued. The HR Manager interpreters and provides input against local needs to identify, plan and deliver critical initiatives to align with regional, international and global strategies. To be successful in the role it is essential to establish strong and trusted partnerships with the local business leaders, international based HR leaders and centralized specialist functions.

The role reports into the HR Director, CEE and is a member of the local management team and the EMEA HR team.

The HR Manager supervises one HR Coordinator to ensure the delivery of all day-to-day operational tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

HR Programs and Business partnering
• Be an effective Business Partner for local Leaders, acting as a sounding board and change agent to drive and implement the desired behavioral and
organizational changes
• Advise during annual budget cycle on overhead impact (i.e. costs for HC, recruitment, promotions, market adjustments, consultancy fees etc.)
• Responsible for HR projects, programs and initiatives across all businesses in the Benelux and ensure compliance as well as deliver quick solutions to fit local needs
• Provide in-country expertise, with the ability to act strategically and operationally across all HR functions including employee relations, talent acquisition, reward, employee engagement and organizational design and change

Talent Management & Acquisition
• Lead local talent management programs including the Talent Review and Performance feedback process, by coaching managers, providing advice and support whilst contributing to building a culture of continuous development and feedback
• Work together with the international Talent Acquisition team and/or external agencies for sourcing the best talent for open roles
• Be an ambassador for the NBCUniversal brand and pro-actively create brand awareness guided by the employee value proposition
• Run and improve the localized Internship program in partnership with Head office and against corporate guidelines
• Maintain organizational structures by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions

Compensation and Benefits
• Maintain employee benefits programs and inform employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids
• Implement C&B initiatives and lead the implementation of the annual salary review process in line with guidelines and in connection with performance

Learning & Development
• Analyse training needs against local business strategy and employee skill gaps, playing a proactive role in defining and ensuring the delivery of training initiatives
• Actively support talent development and employee engagement projects, ensuring the completion of the Annual Talent review process
• Work with local business leaders on promote and nominating employees for internal talent training programs (Talent Labs) to further develop local talent

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
• Drive the local DEI agenda together with the local DEI team
• Organize different local DEI activities and trainings throughout out the year
• Create a diverse, equal and inclusive culture in the local office and align this with the international and global DEI strategies

Employee Relations & Policies
• Support a culture of trust, promoting open & honest communication. Train and coach managers and employees on best practices and adhering to company values
• Be a trusted partner for managers and employees in addressing and handling 'difficult conversations' and mediate where appropriate to achieve mutual understanding and an enjoyable work environment
• Be proactive and anticipate change, providing critical and timely input about consequences and implications of local law to all internal stakeholders
• Support and train managers to coach their team and take disciplinary actions if needed; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counselling employees and supervisors
• Conduct investigations, be responsible for maintaining records and representing the organization at hearings if and where needed

Labour Conditions
• Advise, design and implement local labour condition needs, whilst adhering to legislation and ensuring a safe, healthy and complaint work place for employees

HR Transactional Activities
• Oversee a flawless execution of payroll and HR administration activities

Qualifications

ABOUT YOU
• Substantive years HR experience of which minimum 3 in a business partnering capacity within a dynamic international environment
• Experience in all operational HR aspects of the employee life-cycle (recruitment, onboarding, payroll, HR administration etc.)
• Business-savvy and credible sparring partner
• A 'can do' mentality that can shift from acting hands-on to strategic thinking
• Ability to navigate through a complex, matrix business and provide the appropriate partnership, support and coaching to local stakeholders
• Demonstrable ability to understand and promote the linkage between business and operational priorities and HR activities
• Outstanding influencing skills with the ability to identify and translate key priorities
• Excellent relationship building and communication skills, able to adapt between the cultural nuances of areas/businesses
• Ability to deal tactfully and confidentially with internal and external customers and be a trusted source
• Forward thinking with passion and creativity, not afraid to challenge the status quo
• Foster an inclusive culture and the ability to provide guidance and coaching to HR Coordinator

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
• Degree level qualification or equivalent in Human Resources or other relevant subject
• Strong knowledge of current Dutch employment laws and regulations, Belgium knowledge is a plus
• Excellent written and spoken English, Dutch is a plus
