NBC, the Home of the Olympics in the United States, owns the exclusive US media rights to the Olympic Games through 2032, which includes Milan Cortina 2026.
This full-time temporary position will, at first, support NBC Olympics Bureau office, at a location to be confirmed within the Milan region. Leading up to games-time, the HR Generalist will then be expected to work out of the International Broadcast Center (IBC) in support of all HR matters within the region in partnership with the NBC Olympic HR Team. The successful candidate must have a foundational knowledge base of the Italian labor market, work rules, employment laws, and regulations. This position will report to the VP, Human Resources, based in the US, with support from the EU based HR Director. The HR Generalist will work in close partnership with the NBC Olympic Operations team to establish our operation on the ground. The position will begin in April 2025 for an approximate 12-month assignment. Candidates are generally responsible for their own housing.
Responsibilities
• Serve as the HR representative for NBC Olympics in Milan until games-time and play a role as a core member of the NBC Olympic HR team arriving on-site.
• Work with US & EU based HR team to provide direction and insights into local employment regulations and practices.
• Provide support to the NBC Olympics Bureau on an as-needed basis for pre-games special projects which could include immigration matters, hiring, local compliance, and Environmental Health & Safety, among other things.
• In partnership with the VP & Director, liaise with NBC's local agency supporting recruiting and staffing to enable efficient and clear hiring & onboarding processes including:
• Confirming hiring needs, job descriptions, managing the candidate experience (communications, engagement, etc.)
• Participating in interview process, providing insight on hiring decisions, and supporting offer analyses
• Partnering with agency to onboard local staff for accreditation purposes and maintaining all necessary records of local hires
• Enter and update employee information in NBC Olympics' personnel databases
• Partner with US based HR team to facilitate immigration and visa needs for NBC Olympic traveling personnel following Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic Committee requirements.
• Support miscellaneous filming or survey related HR and operational needs, as directed, in supporting bureau operations.
• Handle miscellaneous HR related matters in all relevant regions as necessary in partnership with NBC Olympic HR leadership.

Requirements
• Must be willing to work out of the bureau office in Milan daily and the IBC (or similar venue) during games time, as needs require.
• Minimum 2 years Human Resources experience; Generalist/Business Partner experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
• Must be capable of learning other computer-related systems and processes.
• Knowledge base of Italy labor market and work rules, employment laws, and regulations.
• Ability to translate and speak Italian to English and English to Italian.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English & Italian by phone and in person.
• College Degree.

• Previous Olympic Games, or multi-sport event and/or television/film industry experience is a plus but is not required.
