Job Description

As a Coordinator for the Standards department, you will provide a broad range of support to the Telemundo Program Standards team, supporting our broadcast, cable, and streaming properties. You will also serve as a department liaison in interactions with internal divisions and external partners. This cross-functional role involves extensive contact with teams inside and outside of NBCUniversal. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills and be able to identify issues and develop creative solutions proactively. You will also provide direct administrative support to the head of the department as needed.

This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Program Standards. The Coordinator will be expected to partner effectively and collaborate seamlessly with Coordinators supporting other departments.

Job Duties:
• Provide administrative support to the team, including scheduling, assisting with meetings and presentations, maintaining production calendars, updating show assignments, and reconciling expenses.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for inquiries about departmental procedures and processes, including program coverage, parental ratings, and commercial clearance issues.
• Operate delay mechanism for live programming and oversee delay operator scheduling.
• Proactively monitor department systems and processes and develop and implement strategies and projects to support cross-team collaboration and information sharing and drive greater effectiveness in our work.
• Maintain complete confidentiality and discretion regarding all business matters.

This position is crucial for implementing strategic initiatives, offering outstanding internal support to our partners, and promoting functional excellence. Therefore, the ideal candidate will excel at fostering positive relationships and establishing trust with the entire department and our partners, including creative executives, writers, producers, advertising agencies, and other divisions of NBCUniversal, such as Ad Sales and Legal.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
• B.A., B.S., or higher degree or comparable work experience in the entertainment area.
• Excellent computer skills (including Microsoft Office, internet sources, and the ability to master many corporate applications)
• A minimum of one (1) year of full-time work experience is required; prior administrative support, media internship, or Page Program experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Spanish a must. Must be able to read and understand.

Desired Characteristics:
• A passion for the business of television and familiarity with NBCUniversal entertainment content (i.e., NBC, E!, NBC, Oxygen, Peacock, Syfy, Bravo, and USA).
• A self-starter and effective team player who can work independently and collaboratively.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Technologically savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office 365 tools, including Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and One Note.
• A desire to grow professionally as the role's responsibility grows rapidly with the business.

Additional Requirements:
• This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
• Excellent cross-team synchronization, project management, and executive communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and a high volume of time-sensitive tasks in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Must be willing and available to work after regular working hours, during holidays, and on weekends as needed to meet operational needs, like show-specific production schedules and timelines.
• The nature of the work performed may require discussion of sensitive subjects, including explicit language, sexual scenes, slurs, etc., that appear in content undergoing review, so a demonstrated ability to engage in sensitive and difficult conversations is a plus.
