SPORTS ENGINE / YOUTH REC SPORTS

This role is part of our Youth & Recreational Sports group, comprised of technology platforms such as SportsEngine HQ, SportsEngine Motion, SportsEngine Play and SportsEngine Tourney. We enable athletes, parents, coaches and team administrators in the youth and recreational space to manage their organizations, collect payments, share schedules, find programs to participate in and connect with other families. Additionally, NCSI enables leagues and organizations to properly screen and train coaches in an effort to keep kids safe.

Job Description

Reporting to the UX Research Manager, the UX Researcher will be responsible for gathering user feedback for every stage of the development process and communicating that deep understanding of our users so that our development teams can make informed, user-centric decisions and provide a best-in-class experience for our users.

This role requires broad knowledge of UX impact on product design and development. If you are analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about understanding users and how they engage across our digital platforms this could be the job for you!

As a UX Researcher II at SportsEngine, you will…
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research, with the ability to plan for and executed mixed methods for large-scale research initiatives
• Independently manage primary research projects, including designing and executing user interviews, usability studies, surveys, card sorting activities and more to support the development teams
• Be able to quickly acquire product knowledge to lead all phases of research including developing well-crafted research plans, build research studies in UserZoom and/or Qualtrics, synthesize thoughtful insights from the data, and create relevant, actionable next steps for UX, product, engineering, and overall organization
• Collaborate closely with UX Designers to incorporate research findings into designs to create exceptional user experiences
• Craft easy-to-understand artifacts and cater your communication style to effectively communicate insights
• Proactively identify research challenges and use your own creative-problem-solving skills to successfully gather and deliver the research insights to the development team
• Be autonomous. You'll take full ownership of your work and take responsibility for every detail every step of the way.
• Invest in understanding the product leaders' visions to be able to identify and suggest research opportunities
• Clearly articulate the impact of research on the business to measure the success of actionable insights and advocate for research when resources are limited
• Understand and be an advocate for user-centered design processes

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience of conducting user research
• Experience using user research tools such as UserZoom and Qualtrics (other tool experience is also valued)
• Experience communicating your ideas with diagrams, graphics, and imagery using tools like PowerPoint and Figma (other tool experience also valued)
• A degree in related field is a plus but practical experience is just as valued
• A proven track record of managing projects and communicating scope and progress to relevant stakeholders
