Digital Archive Assistant (PH)
This position will help coordinate the digitization of the Publishing film archive so that this material is incorporated into our digital archive and available for use in future publications. The employee will also help schedule the digitization of material slated for inclusion in upcoming publications, adjusting and correcting those files as needed upon receipt. The ability to multitask as well as strong organizational skills are required, as is knowledge of the comic-book industry. Experience with digital archiving is a plus.
Responsibilities:
Film Digitization
• Schedule film scanning for both the archive-digitization project and use in upcoming publications
• Audit files as they are delivered from the vendor
• Touch up line art and colors in digital film scans to restore broken/blemished artwork or lettering and ensure colors fill to but do not extend outside the line art
• Review invoices submitted from the vendor and route for approval
• Archive files or stage them for use in upcoming publications, and update our inventory records
• Help proof collections that include digitize files.
Basic Qualifications:
• Strong software skills and experience with Microsoft Excel and the Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign)
• Knowledge of Marvel characters and publishing history
• Strong communications skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and multitask to complete various time sensitive projects
• Experience with digital archives a plus
This position is a project hire and will complete 02/28/2027.
The hiring range for this position based in New York is $47,100.00 to $60,800.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
