Job Summary/Description:

The Newsroom Coordinator works 830a-530p Monday-Friday and is responsible for answering phones, responding to viewer emails and social media, coordinating news staff schedules, booking travel, organizing news meetings and station events, reviewing newscast graphics for grammatical accuracy, teleprompting newscasts, and other administrative and production tasks as assigned.

Duties would include (but not be limited to):
• Strong initiative, organization and attention to detail is required
• Must be able to follow written and verbal direction
• Excellent listening skills, good communication skills required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and Google
• Must be flexible to work other shifts, as assigned, during breaking news
• Must be able to work work well in a team environment and with other departments
• Must be able to work well under pressure and with limited supervision
• Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving in a manner that will work well with co-workers, supervisors and viewers
• Must have an energetic attitude and be able to represent the company in public in a positive, professional manner

Qualifications/Requirements:
• High School/GED
• Some college or vocational schooling
• Good driving record
