Job Description
IndieWire is hiring a Senior Video Producer who can help guide our rapid expansion of our high-end video franchises, podcasts, events, and studio interviews. This role will also create and implement distribution strategies to maximize the reach of both sponsored and organic editorial video content.

Reporting to the IndieWire Associate Publisher, the Senior Video Producer will manage all aspects of IndieWire video production and support the growing and ever-evolving video needs across sales, marketing, events, and editorial. The ideal candidate should have both strong editing and post-production supervising skills, as the video producer directs a team of two video producer/editors. This position is responsible for sourcing freelance vendors to deliver multiple projects during our busiest periods/seasons, ensuring the final product is both of quality and on brand.

This unique position of being at the intersection of editorial and sales requires openness in collaboration. While content is currently driven by our sponsored content franchises which embody IndieWire's editorial voice, this role will also be responsible for building out regular, organic IndieWire video content. This role oversees a complex schedule of productions with tight deadlines for multiple stakeholders; it needs a person who prides themselves on creating procedures that ensure everyone is up to date.

A self-motivated work ethic is essential; so is a passion for TV and movies.

The position can be in NYC or LA.

Responsibilities
• Oversee and manage all aspects of sponsored and editorial video workflow from pre to post.
• Oversee and manage all aspect of live shoots – establishing not only look and feel of executions but sourcing and hiring appropriate staff within budget needs
• Collaborate with Associate Publisher and VP, Features Strategy to lead strategy on the development of new, sponsorable editorial franchises
• Collaborate across Sales, Editorial, Social, Marketing and Event teams to develop on-brand solutions for both clients and readers
• Establishing franchise brands with distinctive content that adheres to brand voice and visuals that distinguish it in the marketplace
• Develop wide variety of creative concepts that are executable, repeatable, on time, and within budget
• Develop and implement video growth strategies based on data performance and trends to increase audience reach, engagement and brand relevancy
• Ownership of all video measurement metrics across distribution platforms - site, social, YouTube, and more
• Oversee budget management for the content studio and process all contracts and payments for freelancers including writers, producers, editors, stylists, and more.

Skills/Requirements
• At least 8 years' experience editing and managing the production of high-end digital video
• Preferred experience as a digital video editor with a track record of delivering on high-end projects.
• Experience planning, budgeting, and executing in-person shoots at a variety of locations – O&O studios, junkets, festivals, conferences and more.
• Experience with media and entertainment talent.
• Deep experience in digital, video (web and social,) branded content, and events
• Deep experience with video distribution platform (social, YouTube, etc.) strategies, best practices, metrics, and more
• Adobe Premiere and CS expertise for video edits and MGFX – Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign and more.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to give clear instructions and notes to video editors.
• A good working knowledge of current TV series and movies, and an understanding for the contributions of its creators and filmmakers.
• Strong freelance network of video editors, MGFX artists, videographers, producers, editors, photographers, and more
• Willingness to travel
• JIRA and Salesforce experience is a plus

Typical wage range: $105K-$120K. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.
