Job Description
As Senior Finance Manager you be part of the finance team supporting the Hearst Autos group, which includes Road & Track, Car and Driver, Bring a Trailer, MotorTrend and Hot Rod. Your role will include financial planning, month-end close reconciliations and reforecasts as well as headcount analysis. You will assist in providing analysis, metrics and generating insights that support key initiatives and will serve as a business partner in a cross functional capacity with teams across Financial Analysis, Advertising, Marketing and Content. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, be well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and prioritize tasks. High competency of key computer programs including Excel and PowerPoint is a must. The ability to manage multiple tasks and stay on deadline are required in this role. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, fast learner, and motivated to go above and beyond what is expected. Senior Finance Manager must also be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Resonsibilities:
What You'll Do
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis of revenue streams, audience metrics, and cost drivers to identify areas for optimization
• Assist in the development and management of annual budgets
• Play a lead role in the month end process – create journal entries and investigate P&L variances to ensure accuracy
• Collaborate with Accounting team to ensure accuracy of data
• Maintain pacing reporting and models to inform potential changes for monthly reforecast of revenues and expense
• Distribute month-end financial summaries to management as well as relevant teams
• Meet regularly with operating teams to review latest results, identify trends, and provide financial expertise on projects
• Lead and assist with improvements to operational efficiencies and streamlining processes
• Address ad hoc financial analysis requests and inquiries
Qualifications:
Who You Are
• Minimum 6 years of financial or business management experience, preferably in media
• Advanced financial, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Highly organized with strong ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Exceptional attention to detail with ability to work with accuracy and meet deadlines
• Must be highly collaborative and have strong interpersonal skills to positively communicate with all levels of staff
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
• Knowledge of Oracle Financials, Oracle Planning & Budgeting Cloud Service (EPBCS), and/or Smartview a plus
• Excellent communication skills; ability to distill financial data into clear and concise insights
• Ability to prioritize and manage competing priorities effectively in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment
• Experience in creating and/or implementing process improvements
The base salary for this role is between $116,000-$140,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
