Your impact:
Country Living is looking for an organized and energetic editorial assistant to join our close-knit team in Birmingham, Alabama. Reporting directly to the deputy managing editor, digital, this person should be eager to learn, fast on their feet, and enthusiastic about our core content areas (decorating, gardening, food, collecting, pop culture, and pets). The ideal candidate has experience on the digital side of a magazine or other publication. What you'll do:
• Provide general administrative support to senior-level editors
• Assist with key editorial production tasks, including building stories, syndicating content, sourcing and optimizing images, research and fact-checking, when needed.
• Research, write, produce, and/or update 2-3 stories per day for the site-including ecommerce roundups and SEO articles-in a way that is voice-y, highly sharable, search-optimized, and smartly packaged
• Regularly pitch and write digital stories for CountryLiving.com across all beats
• Respond to reader e-mails and queries

Who you are:
• You have knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Twitter trends and key competitive brands online.
• You have a familiarity with Google Analytics, Dash Hudson, SocialFlow or similar reporting and scheduling tools, as well as other basic digital production tools/content management systems.
• You're a strategic, creative thinker and self-starter willing to push the envelope and bring fresh, innovative ideas to life
• You have top-notch organization skills and attention to detail.
• You have a sense of humor and a clear, creative snappy writing style.
• You have a degree in Journalism, English, or related field.
• You have intern or assistant experience at a digital lifestyle or related brand.
