WHFC Radio Station Assistant

As the Radio Station Assistant, you'll help keep our station running smoothly and creatively, supporting everything from on-air broadcasts to community engagement. Whether you're prepping automated air shifts, producing public affairs programs, or helping train the next generation of radio talent, your role will make a big impact on our station's success!

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and operation of automated air shifts.
• Produce public affairs programs, announcements, and promotional content.
• Manage computer automation tasks, including log creation and music downloading.
• Recruit and train student and community volunteers.
• Perform on-air shifts as needed and represent WHFC at campus and community events.
• Support fundraising, preview new music, and liaise with music labels.
• Help maintain the station’s public file and track internet streaming and royalty records.
• Ensure on-air shifts are fully staffed and step in for station supervisors when needed.

What You’ll Need:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year of radio broadcasting experience.
• Familiarity with FCC regulations for non-commercial radio.
• Social media management skills and marketing know-how.
• Ability to operate radio equipment and manage broadcast transmitters.
• Strong communication, writing, and multitasking abilities.
• Passion for diversity, customer service, and continuous learning.
