Job Description
ONLINE INFRASTRUCTURE

What We Do

We enable Epic's online services teams to build, deploy, and manage services that are used by more than half a billion players around the world. Our mission is to provide world class tools and platforms to improve the experience of our developers and make it easier, faster, and safer to build, operate, and scale their applications. We operate at massive scale as one of the largest cloud computing users in the world.

What You'll Do

Your primary responsibility will be technical leadership of our Governance and Platform Infrastructure (GPI) organization, which will focus on building technical alignment and partnerships with external and internal engineering and product teams and technical leaders. You will leverage your strong technical leadership skills as you play a key role in improving, scaling, and operating cloud infrastructure services.

In this role, you will
• Own and drive the technical vision and strategic planning across all of GPI
• Be accountable for building and maintaining technical alignment and partnerships with teams and technical leaders within GPI
• Drive the outcomes, delivery, and execution of strategic initiatives within GPI. This includes contributing individually to the project as needed to support teams and outcomes
• Work across Epic to ensure that you are driving alignment and accountability with partner and customer teams
• Build, grow, and mentor an engineering team that balances technical expertise with customer focus and a growth mindset to deliver consistently
• Partner closely with product management, software engineering, and cloud engineering teams to ensure that your roadmap is appropriately prioritized to drive meaningful outcomes
• Maintain a high bar for the quality and operational health of the tools that our teams build and define the metrics used to measure the effectiveness of our system

What we're looking for
• A proven track record of driving technical leadership of high-performing engineering teams and cultures
• Strong desire to level up and grow the leadership talent around you through mentorship and coaching
• Experience optimizing for budgetary efficiency. Ensuring that the budget is spent in the areas will positively impact players the most
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work across teams to understand the technical and non-technical needs of diverse stakeholders
• Experience working across large organizational and business unit boundaries to help drive change and build alignment with customers and partners
• Knowledge of modern developer platforms and industry standards for developer tooling and practices
• Deep understanding of cloud technologies, especially Amazon Web Services
• An ability to drive a long-term vision for improving cloud infrastructure and services through continual iterative improvements
• A desire and willingness to jump into the weeds and do engineering work as needed to deliver strategic outcomes for the organization
