With studios located in Los Angeles and Vancouver, Ripple Effect has been dedicated to the Battlefield franchise since our founding as DICE LA in 2013. We created Battlefield 2042's Portal and have supported DICE on every Battlefield game since Battlefield 4.
Now, we're looking for new team members to help us create the next Battlefield.
As a Technical Audio Artist, you will create the best possible experience for our players through the game's user interface. You will work with our experienced team to develop visual designs for in-game UI features such as HUD, map screen, deployment screen, vehicle and weapon UI.
You will report to the Studio Line Director in Los Angeles. Hybrid position.
What you'll do:
• Reporting to the Technical Audio Director, you will create, optimize, and maintain systems for SFX, VO and music implementation using our proprietary Frostbite engine and supporting tools.
• You will assist teammates and demonstrate an understanding of our audio pipeline and how audio integrates with game features across the project.
• You will work with several departments, pods and strike teams across time zones to help achieve excellent pairing of audio and audio systems with their creations
• You will author and maintain workflow and validation tooling.
• You will work with engineers to ensure audio systems and tools are performant
• You will work with QA to plan and support testing of sound.
• You will provide clear documentation for teammates.
Must Have:
• Burning passion to collaborate and solve complex creative and technical challenges in the pursuit of sharing a fun experience with the world.
You Will Have:
• Expert-level understanding of sound design and mixing principles.
• Proficiency with visual scripting and debugging.
• Proficiency with game engines, audio middleware, IDEs.
• 1+ years of experience with C++, Python, Lua.
• Released audio software or tools, preferred.
• Shipped AAA titles preferred.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). BASE SALARY RANGES
• British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria)
• $73,200 - $101,700 CAD
In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
